Why is it called the Lion’s Gate Portal?
The name “Lion’s Gate Portal” comes from mixing astrology and the modern calendar. It occurs during “Leo Season” (July 22 to August 22), every year it happens on the 8th day of the 8th month (8/8).
The symbol of a lion rules the Leo zodiac, giving it the Lion symbol. Leo’s planet is the Sun itself.
Sirius (considered the spiritual sun) peaks with the sun yearly some time during July and August.
It is called a “Portal” because at some point during this time, both the physical and spiritual suns align. (2026 brings the height of both suns on the 8th day of the 8th month,8/8).
The symbol of “8” is also an infinity symbol. The infinity symbol symbolizes the connection between the physical and the spiritual world. Thus, it is believed to be an energetic culmination and quick opportunity to make requests and give intentions in the physical that also unite with the spiritual.
Intentions we set during the Lion’s gate portal get a boost from other planets. With the combination of Sirius and the Leo sun, our wishes really may come true. Since the portal happens from July 28 to August 12, the 8th is the day when the energy creates a perfect alignment between the Sun, Sirius and the Earth.
In numerology, the number 8 represents prosperity and abundance. Thus, the 8th day of the 8th month intensifies this energetic symbol. Ancient Egyptians believed in this date for improving prosperity.
What does the Lion’s Gate Portal mean for me?
As the Lion’s Gate Portal is considered powerful for manifesting prosperity, it is also considered powerful for spiritual and physical healing. Because of the high level of energy flow, past wounds may bubble up as healing opportunities. Don’t be surprised if that old issue feels like the sun is once again shining on it.
Transformation follows attention. As we acknowledge a past problem or issue, we are at the same time called to transform that issue and ask the universe/God/spirit to help us do so. The 8/8 portal is said to be particularly helpful with this.
Personally, it is fascinating to me as a psychic medium that every time this date occurs, I often look back at it as a time when I dealt with a past issue. Insecurities often bubble up a few days before this portal just in time for me to release them before the energy of the Lion’s Gate Portal evaporates. I don’t plan it. It just happens.
What should I do during a Lion’s Gate Portal?
The Lion’s Gate Portal will help you hold a mirror up to what you truly want and what is no longer best for your life. The way to use that to your advantage is to get clear on your dreams and goals through self-reflection.
Words also hold energy, and words that are written and/or spoken hold exponentially more energy that just our thinking of them.
- With that in mind, start out by writing down what you are grateful for. This puts you in a higher, more spiritual vibration.
- Write down the things you want to change.
- Write down the parts of your life where you don’t feel you can be really yourself. (This is just for you; no judgement.)
- Once you have a clear idea of what you want. start visualising what that looks like: continue journaling or make a vision board.
- Keep your gratitude going throughout this process. If you find yourself focusing on your lack of something, return to your gratitude and re-raise that vibration again.
Completing these steps lets the universe know that you are serious.
Can you do the same thing through meditation? Sure! However, going into physical steps during this spiritual time mimics the blending of the physical and spiritual of the 8/8 portal. Therefore, you can better align with the powerful energy at your disposal.
The Lion’s Gate Portal offers an opportunity to be honest about what you do. No matter how you react to or with this energy, use this time to go within. You do not need a perfect ritual! All you need is an open mind to step toward the things in life that you want.
