2 Stories: When Psychic Skeptics Encounter a Psychic
Have you thought about the barriers to being a psychic skeptic? Do you know where skepticism comes from or how it is formed? Have you ever thought about the benefits or drawbacks of being a skeptic? Well, buckle up because we are going to talk about all of that and more.

Is skepticism healthy or unhealthy?
Skepticism can be both good and bad, depending on how you approach it. In instances where you are skeptical of everything, you may have some unresolved life events that need to be addressed and released. This is something I do daily with clients because no one wants to stay in fight-or-flight mode indefinitely.
Healthy Skepticism
Having some skepticism is healthy. In your daily life, and especially when seeking professional assistance in any form, skepticism can be present because you have lived. Your life experiences shape the people you are comfortable around. It shapes where you feel safe and the type of interactions you accept and those you reject. Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable to be a psychic skeptic.
These are forms of protection that we sometimes do not understand. That is because it is our souls, guides, or angels working to help keep us safe and aligned. When you are in a situation that makes you uncomfortable, you often have “alarms” going off, prompting you to escape. That is spiritual protection, your intuition telling you that you are uncomfortable.
Being aware of your skepticism can help you avoid harmful situations. It provides insight, through the unseen, into a person, place, or situation. So, it is not about never being a skeptic; it is about using skepticism as a tool rather than dwelling on it.

Unhealthy skepticism
Being a full-time skeptic in every situation can be exhausting! You burn out and get anxiety, all due to your body being in a state of heightened awareness that taxes your physical being. It is a cascading effect. Once you stress your physical being, your mental capability is reduced, and you close yourself off to spiritual intervention.
This is about the law of attraction. Skepticism can cause you to attract negativity, swinging you upside down. If you use skepticism as a defense mechanism, you are likely in a place of needing healing. That is okay! We all go through this, and we all need to heal different aspects of ourselves to achieve a healthy balance with skepticism.
My Experience with Skeptics as a Psychic Medium
I have encountered many people who are skeptical about the phenomenon of psychics. For me, it’s not about proving my capabilities to them, but about helping them see beyond the wall they have built and opening them up to the unexplainable, thereby helping them heal from buried experiences. I do have some funny and transformational stories, though!
First Time Psychic Skeptic Reading
I had a client who came for their first-ever psychic reading. This is a situation where I welcome a psychic skeptic because you don’t know the truth about something until you experience it firsthand. There were no specific questions, as they were not even sure they believed in what I was doing, but wanted to “give it a try.”
After connecting with their energy, one of the first things I picked up was a horse and a location. I described this to my client, and it turns out that this was their childhood life! They had grown up on a farm and owned a horse during their younger years.

Continuing with our reading, I saw a water park and a plane. Although a stark contrast to the farm life, I explained what I was getting. It turns out that the water park was where they would spend their summers as children, and the plane (I saw this client flying) was related to having just registered for pilot classes.
It turns out that my client kept asking our mutual friend if they had told me about their childhood and current plans. They could not fathom how I would know such specifics about them without being told! It made me giggle for sure, and no, I had not been given that information before the reading.
Spirit will always show up when there is a psychic skeptic, as this is a connection to truth and knowledge. Your spiritual team wants to communicate with you and connect you to divine wisdom. We have to get out of our way to do that.
Skepticism with Energy Healing
I garner even more psychic skepticism related to energy work. I understand that society considers what I do taboo, but you cannot deny the benefits that come with it. See, we are all composed of energy, right down to each proton and neutron that creates our physical being. Each of those molecules is charged, either positively or negatively, and when they interact, they create detectable energy.
By this, I mean that science can record energy around a person’s body and has even observed a flash of energy as someone passes into the spirit realm. Although science is only now “discovering” what energy practitioners have said for centuries, there is still healthy skepticism from the public.

A lovely client who began her journey in energy healing and vibroacoustic therapy with me a few months back. She was not specifically a psychic skeptic but had never worked with an energy healer. She was not sure what else to do, as her physical limitations and disabilities were leading to an unfulfilled life. It prevented her from exploring the world and engaging in normal daily activities.
During her first energy session, our focus was on aligning her chakras and introducing healing energy. What happened was much more than that. Her mom stepped into the room (as I call it) from the spirit realm to send her a message of love and hope. A message of closure and assurance she did not know she needed.
That first trickle of healing propelled her on the path of well-being. She was tentative about its ability to help her, but behind that emotion was hope and excitement. After a few sessions, her ability to move around increased, and her pain decreased. She was healing from the inside out, realigning her thoughts with positivity and viewing the world through an entirely new perspective.

Although not a funny story, it shows the importance of being open-minded. It demonstrates that even a psychic skeptic can undergo a profound transformation through energy work. The important part is to experience it and have a glimmer of acceptance and hope during the session.
What Comes After?
A choice. When you move away from being a skeptic, you start to see the bigger picture. Instead of having your head down, focused on the world around you, you view the world in its entirety. You understand how you’ve gotten stuck in a cycle that society says you’re supposed to be in. You need to break the bonds that have held you back from growth and abundance. In the end, you become someone open to the possibilities and opportunities life has to offer.
Remember, skepticism is healthy if it does not control you. Use it intuitively. Listen to your intuition and heed its message. You will find balance and peace within.
