Protecting Your Energy with 4 Invaluable Steps
As an empath, protecting your energy can be challenging. It can be difficult to distinguish your own emotions and perceptions from those of others. This is due to the subconscious brain and your energetic body interacting with different energies as you go about your day. However, this does not have to be a fearful thought, as there are several ways to protect your energy.
What Is Energy Protection About?
Energy protection is about protecting your physical, mental, and spiritual self and preventing outside influences from affecting you. It is a process of being secure and safe and trusting in yourself to put these protections, or barriers, in place.

This may seem foreign when you think about your job, especially when you have been in that position for an extended period. Yet, if you think about it, have you ever stopped to pay attention to how you feel when you enter your workplace and how you feel afterward?
If you did, you may feel anxious or stressed when thinking about work. Or, you may be excited to go to work for interaction and productivity. Then, after the workday wraps up, you are left with pure, heavy exhaustion, blocking your motivation to accomplish anything else. This is because of the energetic drain caused by your environment and the people associated with it.
All will be well if you can remove stressors, acquaintances, or stressors that give you these feelings. However, we live in a time where walking away from a paying job is very difficult. Especially since the economy has begun to increase prices while maintaining the same pay scale, energetic protections are imperative to regaining your motivation, control, and freedom.

The Process of Protecting Your Energy
I wish I could say that this is a simple process that only requires you to do it once, and then you’re good. However, protecting your energy requires dedicating time, effort, and attention to your energetic self. Becoming aware of your emotions and reactions is a good start.
First, assess your feelings before entering any situation. For example, if you plan to go to work on a Monday, take the weekend to reflect on how you feel about it. Do you get anxious at the mere thought of entering the building? Do you have those emotions when thinking about co-works or projects you will encounter?
These are little insights into what truly causes the drain while there. For this article, the primary example will be related to work. Still, please note that it also applies to all situations in which you have a strong emotional response or feel exhausted after encountering them. Setting protections can help with these large, energetic events.

Mental Process of Protecting Your Energy
To start the process of protecting your energy, use mental imagery. I like envisioning a ball or egg of white or golden light. Both energy colors are representative of the divine that can shield you from taking on overwhelming energies.
I envision it surrounding my being, always shielding me from others. The best time to do this is when you wake up in the morning, leave the safety of your home, or begin to feel stressed or overwhelmed.
Verbal Process for Protecting Your Energy
In addition to the imagery, I verbally state, “I surround myself in the protective light of the divine. Nothing with negative intentions or feelings may enter, only that of love and light.” This phrase, again, is my own, conveying to my spiritual team that I require protection throughout the day and even more so during specific situations.
A few friends do this every time they get into their vehicle. As this situation has many variables, protection while driving gives an added safety measure for your safe departure, transit, and arrival. The mind hears what the mouth says; therefore, talking positively and affirming your protections significantly impacts protecting your energy.

Regularity of Protecting Your Energy
This must become a daily practice for best results. As we all know, things change at the moment and, therefore, every day. Making this a part of your daily practice helps strengthen your protection and cultivates a self-care routine.
Let’s be honest: self-care is one of the last things on our minds. We tend to be more concerned about family, friends, finances, and so on rather than ourselves. This practice is about what you want in your life and how you allow divine intervention to come into play.
See, spiritual teams are directly connected to the divine energy source, source creator, God, or any other way you call them. When you protect your energy, you communicate and directly involve your Creator, helping elevate your being through energy work. That’s right; anyone can work with energy when they understand that it is the basis of all life.
Protecting Your Energy in Practice
As mentioned, beginning first thing in the morning is a great way to start. This reframes your mind for the day, brings a sense of calm over your body, and helps release negative thought patterns from your mind. You are actively working with your physical, mental, and emotional self, calling forth healing and separation so that you can better take control of your life.
Another good time to practice protecting your energy is when situations trigger your emotions or cause you to shift into a negative mindset. At this point, you should reestablish your energy protections, including the verbal component, to effectively enforce your protections. Awareness of your emotions and the situations around you makes it easier to return to a calm, centered state.

Use of Crystals in Protecting Your Energy
Crystals are a great way to add passive protections. The options for crystals include jewelry, pocket-sized carriers, or home and office adornments. Let’s look at a few different crystals you can use now.
Black Tourmaline. This dark-colored stone is excellent at shielding the owner from negative energies. It also has the added benefit of grounding you, helping you to be more present in the moment. This stone is best used by wearing it or positioning it at the door or entry of your home or office.
Obsidian. Known to absorb negative energy and help purge negative or toxic thoughts. It enables you to connect with your intuition and inner strength. I suggest having this at the office, positioned by the door to your office, cubicle, or desk.
Pyrite. Do you feel a need to boost your confidence while establishing your protections? This is the crystal for you. Also known as fools’ gold, pyrite is said to protect you while also attracting success and abundance. This crystal does not require a specific location for it to be effective. I like to wear it as a bracelet or carry one in my pocket.
Tiger’s Eye. This golden-brown crystal not only protects you from negative energy but can also boost your confidence. It provides mental clarity and stability while enhancing your motivation to complete tasks. This beautiful crystal makes a great bracelet or pocket buddy.
Amethyst. The use of this crystal not only provides protection but also promotes peace. If you’re looking for a protection stone that enhances your well-being while guiding your thoughts toward optimism, this is the crystal you want. Gone are the nightmares and dread that have plagued you by simply placing this next to your bed or wearing it on your person.

Benefits of Protecting Your Energy
Protecting your energy involves observation, awareness, and deliberate action. Setting a routine to incorporate this practice into your daily life is highly beneficial as it calms the body. Have you ever noticed that you tend to experience ailments or illnesses when your stress levels are high? That is about your energy, not just the hormones floating around in your body.
The mental aspect of life has the same ability to create illness as the physical. You also have the spiritual aspect that can cause the same chaos in your life. With these steps, you shift into a positive, calm, controlled, energetic being. This aids in maintaining clarity of mind, increasing energy to accomplish what needs to be done, and an ability to love and accept situations, no matter how complicated.
