6 Crystals That Absorb Negative Energy

Crystals for Protection

Crystals, stones, gemstones…I adore them; it’s probably closer to an obsession if I’m being honest. I have them throughout my home, in my car, and I wear all kinds of jewelry made with a multitude of these precious and semi-precious pieces grown from the earth. Not only does the Libra in me value them because of their beauty, but they can absorb negative energy depending on the type of crystal or stone and its attributes. Below are six of my go-to’s and other ways in which they can aid you and your space:

Black Tourmaline

Properties and ways to use it

So many people utilize this powerhouse because it absorbs negative energy and protects you against psychic attacks. This one is a must in my arsenal as an extreme and physical empath and psychic medium. You can wear it alone or pair it, for example, with Selenite. This pairing creates the yin and yang effect. While the tourmaline absorbs the negative, the Selenite amplifies and brings positive energy. They make an incredible shield! I’ve had many iterations of this pairing and often wear the necklace above when entering unfamiliar spaces. You can also get pieces of the tourmaline and place them next to your doors and window sills to absorb any negative energy entering your home if it makes it in. I place a piece at my door, by all windows, and at the center of my home to cover all bases.

Tiger Eye

Properties and ways to use it

This stone is another favorite. It absorbs negative energy, helps you stay grounded and centered, and attracts good luck. It is very helpful if you are in a chaotic space or around negative energy. I utilize it in two ways: I wear it as jewelry or place a smaller stone in my pocket or bag. You can also get it in tower, pyramid, or whatever shape you like! I got this particular ring in GA at Crystal Blue.

Black Onyx

Properties and ways to use it

This stone is another powerful shield against negative energies. Other attributes of this gorgeous black stone include aiding the beholder in releasing negative energy, attracting abundance, and helping you make better decisions. As with the other two, you can wear it as jewelry or have a stone in your space. I like to pair the onyx skull (above) with a piece of clear quartz to amplify the protective shield around my car. I also have a large piece in my trunk to add a bit of extra razzle-dazzle.

Hematite

Properties and ways to use it

Hematite is one of my go-tos for absorbing negative energy and thoughts as I move about the world. It as a nice protective layer around you. I keep this big guy near my desk and also have pure hematite rings that I wear and have given out to friends and family. When the ring has absorbed all that it can, it will break. For that reason I usually buy I few in anticipation of the enivetable. You can get the ring at your local metaphyisical shop. The large piece above was aquired from a shop in Oakland, Ca.

Silver Sheer Obsidian

Properties and how to use it

Silver sheen obsidian is sibling of black obsidian. Both stones are great at deflecting negative energy. The difference is that silver sheen obsidian vibrates at a higher frequency, which allows it to not only clear but also purify any negative energy you encounter. It also carries calm and cool energy. I got this ring while visiting in GA at Crystal Blue and wear it as a pinky ring, but you can also get it as a handheld/pocket stone, pyrimid, etc.

Smokey Quartz

Properties and how to use it

Smokey quartz is an excellent crystal to round out this list. I love all the different shades of dark and light they come in! Smokey quartz is good for grounding, protection, and stability, to name a few. I use mine in many ways, but here are the two main ones: one to neutralize negative energy, entities, or emotions that may have latched onto me, and the other has been programmed to use energy associated with Archangel Michael to protect my home and everything within a 50-foot radius. Remember, it’s all about intention. All crystals are programmable after you’ve cleansed them, set your intention for them, and charged them. This simplifies the process, but it’s super easy to find out how to do it.
